Sometimes you find yourself rushing past the station you wanted and then get off to travel back. Let’s enjoy Rockdale for 26 minutes till we can return- it was Sunday.
Enjoy the historic station with great sun cover and decorative shop tops.
Get a great fashion surprise from the suburban Flaneur!
Luckily it was not very hot but still rather warm- here I am chilling.
Three hours since my 10:30 departure from Cabramatta, I finally arrive at 1:30pm- an hour late for lunch with Erica. God what a pain!
Still, lunch was fabulous at Cliff Cafe and Pho (pron. “fir”)- click link for Google Maps.
The Vietnamese owners kept the historic facade and the original menu board which is delightful. And the family are fun and friendly with grandfather and grandson helping out with mom and dad doing the cooking and service. I love a family business.
The little grandson, around 4 years old, left off his phone watching to grab a squirter and a window scraper to have a go at the front doors. Sadly, the result was not that great. He walked back, had a look and had another go- with similar results. Then he went out with his Dad and came back pulling a trolley with boxes, running into the table and chairs and he tried to navigate the corner to get behind the counter.
As you can see on the left- that turn to get behind the counter is quite tricky.
The inside is stylish and delightful, with excellent air-conditioning- a necessity on that hot day.
To complete this post I decided to include my only actual card for 2024 (that arrived just after New Year), thanks to Linn. Love it!
And lastly, to conclude my New Year wishes to you a photo from way back in May 2019- the most enthusiastic student at the college I was running- the delightful Vincent.
Thanks for dropping by!
Regards,
Reno
